BonPump details

Pump:

The pump used for the BonPump is a professional radial flow pump. These pumps do not have additional moving parts as flaps or valves and are therefore robust and failure prone.

In contrast with the often offered cheap aquarium type pumps, a brushless DC pump with ceramic axle is designed to endure at least 10,000h.

For a pump assembly that fits inside a 100mm tube, it achieves remarkably high delivery rate of 7 litres per minute.

Hardware & power supply options:

The BonPump system consists of a pump assembly and a control unit. For an easy access to alarm and info signals, the control unit can be installed separately inside the house.

If required, the control unit can be provided with an internal mains adapter to operate with both 230VAC and 24VDC supply.

The 24VDC model, thanks to its efficient pump and circuitry, is well suited to operate with a solar panel or a small wind turbine. Therefore, the BonPump is an optimal extension for non-powered sewage treatment plants. The power consumption in standby mode is less than 1mA.

As the pump assembly operates on 24VDC, there is no need for having parts carrying line voltage installed in the cesspit. The pump’s power connection is protected against polarity reversal.

The extent of the system functionality and the design of the front panel of the BonPump pump-module can be tailored to match your individual needs.

Functions:

In its current configuration (sample configuration) BonPump monitors and indicates the following states and events:

Permanent high water level: The sewage treatment plant is possibly flooded
Permanent low water level: The sewage treatment plant is possibly clogged
Power outage: The battery backed control unit signals the power outage acoustically and visually
Excessive pump current consumption: The pump is possibly clogged or faulty

Naturally, the parameters of functions described above, such as threshold levels, timings etc. can be adapted to your particular needs.
